The T-Stan IRWMA is organized through a Joint Powers Agreement. Each of the parties to this Agreement share a common interest in maximizing the beneficial use of water within the Tuolumne-Stanislaus Region and find it is to their mutual advantage and the public’s benefit to coordinate the implementation and funding of the T-Stan IRWM Plan. A list of powers of the Authority can be found in Section 2.4 “Powers” of the JPA Agreement. Members of the Authority retain control and authority, independent of the Authority, over their own internal matters, including water supplies, facilities, and water supply projects.
